Dan Sherman

My name is Dan, and I work with non-qualified deferred compensation. My clients are organizations and executives who are interested in setting up a new SERP or want to change existing arrangements. This can be complicated. Sometimes it is complicated because of laws and regulations, and sometimes because it deal with tricky details. Frequently, it is both.

For employers: I help establish loan-regime split dollar agreements and non-qualified deferred compensation plans. The IRS and other agencies have many regulations surrounding these types of arrangements. I help organizations understand which interest rates apply, what vesting events are permissible, and how they can pay their executives.

For employees: These plans and arrangements can be confusing. I know the ins and outs of how they work and can explain the intricacies so that you can make informed decisions about your options.
